OUTNUMBERED AND LOVING IT

Welcome to the Sanchez Family. We are a God loving, church going, unconditional loving, Army family of three wild and crazy boys and one 100 pound english bulldog, taking it one day at a time. I'm the mom, the only girl in the house, and the Queen. Hang on tight, it's sure to be a wild ride!

4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! We had a great day! It started Thursday night with date night for Cesar and I. We went to Stoney River Steak House in the Summit and I even got a new dress for the occasion! The food was great and it was nice to be able to spend some alone time with my wonderful husband.

Friday morning we got up to head to my mom's for a cookout. The weather held off and we had a nice time. It is always nice to be able to hang out with family. Meamaw and Paw Paw were able to come along with Uncle Joe. Aunt Vicki, Uncle Doug, Amber, Brittany and baby Michael were there too. He is growing so big! I will post his 1 month picture soon, it is adorable. Erin invited her boyfriend and 2 of her friends to join us. It was a nice time. After dinner we loaded up the car and headed home for fireworks. Erin's friends and boyfriend also joined us. We had a good time out in the front of the house with all the neighbor's and the kids.

The girls all spent the night and this morning we headed off to the mall. They are great girls and we had a great time. I headed to take them home and we stopped off at Zappo's to check out the shoe's. It was my Dad's birthday so we went to Marimba's for dinner.

Cesar and Zachary left this morning for Father/Son baseball camp at U of L and they are having a great time. They practiced fundamentals this morning, broke for a lunch of McDonalds, then went to the University of Lousiville baseball field and got to hit. They went swimming and then had a dinner of pizza and then headed off to the Bats game. They are having a ball. When I talked to him tonight he told me that lights out was at 11pm and they were having a movie and popcorn! I told Cesar to take lots of pictures so I will try to post them tomorrow.

Dead camera, busy week, little time for blogging!

My camera battery is dead and I have lost the charger. I am on a mission to replace it, hopefully today! I have missed a lot of "kodak" moments!

Cesar has been in ANOC school at Ft. McCoy WI for three weeks and he finally returned Wednesday night, to two thrilled boys! Mommy was pretty happy to see him too :)! He was off work Thursday-Sunday so we have been spending a lot of family time together. Zachary has been at soccer camp so we went to watch him on Thursday and then swimming at mom's, Friday after soccer Daddy and Zachary went to see Wall-E. Daddy wasn't to sure about it but Zachary loved it. Saturday Zachary had to go to Greg's so Erin(more on her later) and I went to get a pedicure and run some more errands while Daddy stayed home with Isaiah. Saturday night, Erin, Cesar and I all played the Wii and I beat them in bowling! Sunday we ran errands as a family and then just hung out the rest of the night.
.
Well, I finally got my little girl! Well, I got my girl, she just happens to be 15. Erin, who is like my own little girl has been going through some hard times. On Thursday she decided that she would like to live with us from now on. We are thrilled to have her. I couldn't love her anymore if she really were my own. So the end of the week has been busy with getting the guest room a little more teenage ready! That involves zebra bedding and lots of pictures of friends. Now I am the mom of a high schooler, an elementary schooler, and a toddler! Please pray for me!

As soon as I get a minute I will post the pictures that I did manage to take!

Baby Show, Baseball and Birthdays!

This week was the Shelby County Fair and I put Isaiah in the baby show. I put Zachary in it 6 years ago and he won 1st place. Obviously the judges were smarter then! Isaiah didn't win, but as Zachary put it, he had already won in our family. Kelly also put Brady in it. Her husband was the driving force behind that one. Brady was so excited that he slept through the whole thing! He did however win most photogenic. We think we have the two cutest babies in Shelby County and we really didn't need any fair to tell us that! After the contest the kiddie rides were free and so we let the big boys ride for a little while.

That night we had a double header at the park! The Dodgers(Bradley Dylan) played first followed by the Yankees(Zachary). It was a great night, with great weather! PawPaw, Meamaw and Uncle Joe made it out to the game along with Aunt Mary. The boys always have such a big cheering section, it's great. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by family.

Today we had a Carnival birthday party to go to for Mikayla. She is Zachary's first girlfriend. It was a great time. There was a balloon maker and a face painter there. There were carnival games like a duck pond, ring toss and a bean bag game. They had a popcorn machine and a cotton candy maker! It was so much fun and the rain held off until the very end.

Zachary starts soccer camp tomorrow, bright and early at 9 am in Louisville. I will take pictures and post them tomorrow. I hope he likes it.

It's a busy summer!

It seems like we are never home! We are always doing something. Today we were going to try out the splash park but it was overcast this morning. So we decided to meet at the zoo after lunch. It ended up being nice so we let the boys play for awhile. Brady loved it but Isaiah wasn't to sure! Of course the big boys had a great time. We are going to try again, this time in the morning for sure! It was a little to crowded for the little ones. We are hoping we can get a few more people to go with us, Jodie, Beth, Jessica, any takers?!

After that we headed to Shelbyville for a baseball game. Zachary had two great hits and a great catch. My Gran came out to see him along with the rest of his fan club. Michael even came and he had his eyes open! I was a camera freak today, I took 63 pictures! I promise I won't post them all!

My friend Megan and her husband Paul had a beautiful baby girl Friday afternoon. She is so cute! It makes me want a girl so bad. The hair bows and the dresses, I could go on and on. I love my boys to death, but a girl would be nice too! Megan is saving some clothes for me just in case!

Happy Father's Day to the world best Father!

Happy Father's Day to the love of my life! You are an amazing father and the boys and I are blessed to have you. You love your boys with an intensity that amazes me. You work so hard to provide for them, even when you don't want to. You never miss Zachary's ballgames, and you are so supportive of him. You ask about them all the time and you love them with everything that you have. I love you and the boys do too! Thank you for all you do for them. You were made to be a daddy!

Weekend Update!

We had a pretty busy weekend! After our playdate with Izzie and Jodie we had to go to Babies R Us to get Isaiah a Laugh and Learn Piano. He loved playing with Izzie's so I had to get him one of his own. While we were there I looked at the Laugh and Learn activity table. I had a coupon for 15% off of both so I got them! I got them out of the box this morning and he loves them!

Today we went to visit a friend who just had a baby. Megan had a little girl, Kayleigh and she is a doll! I would love to have a little girl, all the pink and hairbows! Maybe one day!

Play date with Izzie!

We finally had a play date with Miss Izzie Grace! It has been a long time coming! Jodie and Izzie came to the visitation Tuesday and I finally got to see her for the first time, besides on the computer! :) The babies are only 11 days apart, with Izzie being older. They were trying to get each other's paci's and sippy's all afternoon. We tried to keep them from sharing but we eventually gave up. I don't think it will hurt them! They had a great time with all the toys and especially the puffs. It was nice to catch up with Jodie and hang out with the babies! I can't wait to do it again.

Happy 10 months Isaiah!

Wow how time flies! It seems like I was just posting about 9 months! Isaiah is the best little boy in the world! He loves to laugh and play and he thinks his big brother is the best thing in the world. He is glad it is summer and Zachary is home all day long.

Some new things he is doing at 10 months:

*loves music and dances along
*says doggie
*tries to say Zach
*stands at the gate at the top of the stairs and yells for brother
*says bu-bu for brother
*stands on his own for a few seconds
*loves to swim
*bites!
*has a temper
*likes to talk on the phone
*looks for people when you say their name
*loves table food, there is not much he won't eat

I am sure there is more but this is all I can think of for now! I love having boys, they are so much fun! I love you Cesar Isaiah!

Happy 1st Birthday Brady Lee!

With all the stuff going on lately I forgot to post about Brady Lee's first birthday! We had a great time at the pool swimming and eating cake and ice cream. Brady Lee is such a funny little boy. He has great faces, and he is the fastest crawler I have ever seen. He is almost always happy and laughs out loud all the time! I took lots of pictures! Enjoy!

Granddaddy

We lost Granddaddy tonight at about 10:40pm. He died peacefully in his sleep and is now, dancing a jig on the golden streets of Heaven. We are sad but we cry for ourselves, not for him. He is in a much better place. Thanks for all your prayers during this difficult time. I am not sure of the arrangements yet but I will post them soon.

My Granddaddy

This will be the hardest post I have ever written. Tears are falling down my face even as I type. My granddaddy is my hero. He is the strongest man I have ever met. He is honest, upstanding, and near perfect. Well in my eyes he IS perfect. He is 86 years old and is now entering the final stages of life. He fell Tuesday night and hit his head at home. We took him to the hospital and then we found out that he had pneumonia. It has not gotten any better since then. Today we made the hard decision to call in Hospice and prepare for his journey home. They have moved him to ICU in Shelbyville and now we are waiting for a bed to open up at the Hospice unit in LaGrange. Please pray for my family at this time. We are losing an amazing person, but Heaven is gaining him.

I want to give you all an insight on my granddaddy. Some people know him as Bobby, Mr. Stratton, Coach Stratton, Judge Stratton, Daddy, or Robert J(that what's Gran calls him). There are 7 of us that know him as Granddaddy and we are the ones who got the best side of him. You always wanted to ride home from Church with Granddaddy, he always needed to stop at JT's for a loaf of bread. Well you always got to pick out any candy that you wanted and eat it before lunch! He loved to dress up for us, masks, pig slippers, false faces. He could always make us laugh. He liked to pretend he could stretch his arms, the great grandchildren loved this trick! He always had a story to tell, chicken glasses, Bagdad ballpark, Pookie Plater. He loved his ice cream before bed and he shared with us willingly. He loved to be at the ballpark. When I had Zachary he was always asking which hand he was going to throw with. He was saving him a glove from Stratton Sporting Goods. We were truly blessed. He got to see three of his grandchildren get married. He got to see 5 great-grandsons born and he knew he had one more on the way. He had 86 amazing years and even though this is hard, I know I have been blessed. I love you Granddaddy!

Awards Day and the last fay of Kindergarten! :(

Thursday was Zachary's last day of school! They had a school wide awards program and Mrs. Olivencia let us know that he wold be getting an award. So I packed up Isaiah and the camera and we headed off to the school at 9 am! Zachary got the Principal's Award for Kindergarten and the reading award for his class! I am so proud of how good he is doing in school. I hope his love of learning continues for the rest of his school years! After awards we hung out in the classroom for the rest of the day and took a walk, played outside and had lunch on picnic tables with the class. They love to see Isaiah and he loves to play with them. Zachary's first grade teacher will have a hard time competing with his kindergarten one. Mrs. Olivencia was great. She really made this mom's transition to school an easy one. We were blessed for sure. I almost forgot, I was elected to the SBDMC and the PTO Board! I will be busy next year. It just isn't in my nature to site back and let everyone else do the work! Now it's the start of summer and camps and trips to visit Grandma, and Isaiah's 1st birthday! Enjoy your summer, and enjoy your extra time with your kiddos!

Kindergarten Graduation!

Today was Zachary's kindergarten graduation at Woodland Elementary! It was such a great thing to see. I only shed a few tears. I am so proud of Zachary and how smart he is. He got lots of awards and will be getting one Thursday at the school wide awards program! He is such a god reader that he has 452 sight words! That one blew me away. He such a blessing to me and his daddy and his brother. We are so blessed to have such a great son and one that loves to learn. His teacher, Mrs. Olivencia said that he comes to school everyday ready to learn and willing to participate in anything. It makes me so proud as a mom to hear that. After graduation I brought Zachary home and we had ice cream cake with Nana, Grandpa, Kel, Bradley Dylan and Brady Lee. They came to see him graduate! Of course I took lots of pictures so enjoy the slide show!

Happy Memorial Day!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday weekend. It was mostly nice weather so we enjoyed a lot of time outside this weekend. We worked around the house on Saturday and got a lot of things done. I got my bench painted and all my flowers potted! My house is really coming together now! We also had a cookout at my mom's on Sunday. Michael Eric made an appearance! He is sooooooo cute. I forgot my camera at home but I took some pictures with my phone! Tomorrow is kindergarten graduation for Zachary. I am sure I will be crying. I will post some pictures tomorrow of my graduate! Enjoy the pictures of Michael and say an extra prayer for the new parents!

Michael Eric Douglas

Michael Eric Douglas made his grand entrance into the world at 7:30 pm last night. Only after putting his mommy through almost 24 hours of labor! He weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. Brittany and Clint are doing great and happy to be new parents! I will post a picture as soon as I get one. I am hoping to get to the hospital today!

Welcome Michael Eric, we can't wait to meet you in person! We have been waiting to see you for so long now!

Love Cesar, Melissa and boys!

A husband home and a baby on the way....

Tonight we went to the airport to welcome home SGT. Clinton Douglas, my cousins husband, for his R&R from Iraq. Brittany and Clint met at our wedding in October of 2006 and got married in June of 2007. Clint deployed to Iraq in September of 2007 and Brittany found out she was pregnant in October of 2007. Well he made it home tonight for his R&R, 18 days at home in the middle of the tour, and much to his surprise Brittany will be induced tonight! She has been having some problems, such as high blood pressure, and poor functioning kidneys. They called her this afternoon and told her that her blood work was abnormal and they wanted to take the baby tonight. She asked them if she could wait until she picked up her husband and they said that would be fine. When we left Hooters they were on their way to Surban to get everything started. Please say a little prayer for them tonight! We are hoping to welcome Michael Eric Douglas into the world very soon!

Busy, Busy Weekend!

Wow! We seem to keep having busy weekends! It is the only time that we can hang out with my family so we are on the road all weekend. As I posted earlier, it was Bradley Dylan's birthday so we partied all weekend. It was a lot of fun. On Sunday we went to the Steeplechase at the horse park in Lexington. It was a lot of fun. It was our first time going and we will go again next year. They had a kids area, and Jack Russel dog races that the kids loved. The weather was great and it was a really fun time. Cesar had drill all weekend so he missed out on a lot of fun. He did get to Hooters Sunday for dinner so he was happy with that!

Enjoy the pictures!

Happy 4th Birthday Bradley Dylan!

Today is my nephew's 4th birthday! He is just the best thing, in my opinion. I love his wonderful sense of humor and the way he comes out with the best sayings! He loves to make you laugh and likes to push the limits as far as possible. He is 100% boy and I love it. I love to call and listen to him talk. He is my favorite reason for driving all the way to Shelbyville. He makes me laugh on a daily basis. You are not supposed to have favorites, but I must admit he is mine! At least until Brady can read this blog! We celebrated with him all weekend! Friday we went to Incredible Dave's and had dinner and played games. Zachary went home with them and spent the night. Saturday he had a party at the Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen and Sunday we went to the Steeplechase in Lexington. It was a lot of fun. I took a lot of pictures and Kelly did too. I will post a slide show of them soon.

Happy Birthday Bradley Dylan, Sissa loves you to the moon and back! You are my heart and the best 4 year old that I know! Love you bunches!

Z's first baseball game!

I know it's been a long time since I have updated the blog! It's not easy when you are chasing after an extremely active 9 month old! You will have to scroll down and look at all the posts from today!

Yesterday Zachary had his first baseball game in Shelbyville. He is playing coach pitch this year and he did awesome! He had two great hits and a really good stop. Of course his entire cheering section was there to cheer him along! He is on the Yankee team, a little disappointed it wasn't the Dodgers, but happy to play! I took a bunch of pictures, enjoy them! He has another on Thursday, unless it gets rained out. It was really nice for my grandfather to be able to watch him yesterday. I love that we decided to play there, even though it's sometimes a long drive! We saw Beth and Rachael at the park watching Jack practice t-ball. It was nice to be able to see them in person, instead of always on the computer! I am sure we will see a lot of them this summer while the boys play ball.

Happy 9 months Isaiah!

Wow! 9 months already. Isaiah has changed a lot this month. He is doing so much now. We went for his 9 month check-up yesterday and he weighs 21.8 lbs and is 29 inches long. He got his finger pricked and one shot and only cried a little. Dr. Abbott said that he was looking great and right on track! Of course I already thought he was perfect.

Here is what he is doing at 9 months(at least what I can remember):
*crawls everywhere
*climbs steps
*pulls up on everything and everybody
*cries when you take away something he was playing with
*gets mad and stiffens his arms and legs
*eats some table food
*loves to eat anything
*has 6 teeth, 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom
*loves his paci
*sleeps with his lovey
*gets up once a night to eat
*drinks out of a sippy
*finger feeds really well
*loves, puffs, mum mums, grilled cheese, scrambled eggs, beans, rice, mashed potatoes, fruit, peas, cherrios
*eats frozen fruit in his little mesh thing and cries for more
*waves bye bye, mostly only to his brother
*claps
*signs more and all done
*looks for Zachary when we get to school to pick him up
*chases the dogs
*shuts doors
*yells down the step for Z
*likes to chew on the nose sucker(a clean one!)

I am sure there is more! He is so different from Zachary. Zachary was a really laid back baby. He didn't get into much and he left the plugs alone, not this one! He is my little nosey rosey! We have so many gates up around the house! It has been so much fun watching him grow and change! I love you Cesar Isaiah!

Happy (late) Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there! It was a great day in the Sanchez house. I woke up with both my boys and got a great handmade card from Z! It was the best card of the day. My husband got me a new tv for the bedroom! Yeah! I have been watching the little one ever since he gave our nice one to Z to use in the playroom and the Wii. I have been having to squint to bring the images into focus since March! Not anymore!! We all got ready and went to Shelbyville to have lunch at Claudia Sanders, yummy. We had lunch with my grandparents, Aunt Mary, my parents and Kel Brad and the boys. It was a really nice time. We came home and finished painting the boys rooms and then fell into bed! I haven't taken any pictures of the boys rooms yet but I will post them as soon as I finish the decorations! Blogger won't let me add images to the post so I will be uploading a lot of slide shows!

Backyardigans!

We took Isaiah to see the Backyardigans, Saturday with Kel and the boys. They were live at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. I am not sure if any of you have seen anything live like that but this one wasn't the greatest. I was really disappointed in it. They weren't in full costume, their faces were cut out, and it wasn't their voices either. The music kept Isaiah's attention and he seemed to like it, as much as a 9 month old could! Bradley Dylan said they weren't the real ones but he liked it. I wouldn't recommend it, Sesame Street Live was much better! I took some pictures but they wouldn't let me take pictures of the play!

6 TEETH!!!

While we were at baseball practice this afternoon, Isaiah was hanging upside down. It seems to be his new favorite position and my Gran saw his two eye teeth had poked through! I totally missed it! I couldn't believe it. He now has 4 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom! I will try to get a picture tomorrow!

Weekend News and Isaiah's New Tricks!

We had a great but busy weekend! It was so nice outside that I talked my husband into getting some things for outside. We headed to Lowes on Saturday to get some flower boxes and flowers! We also went to Shoe Carnival to get Zachary some new cleats for baseball, and then we had much at Fergies in Elizabethtown. Once we got home I put Cesar to work. The flower boxes look great and the two trees we got for the front door entry make a huge difference!

We then headed inside to watch the Derby. No one in this house had the winner :(. Zachary was made that his horse, Z Fourtune, didn't win and he decided that he wouldn't watch it anymore and left us to go play the Wii. After the Derby I put my wonderful husband to work inside. Now that Isaiah is crawling we have had to baby proof the house in a hurry. He installed gates at the steps to the basement and at the top of the ones upstairs. We then put in a balconly guard upstairs to keep his little arms and legs inside. He then got to install his new Perfect Pull-up Bar in the basement workout room and the kids tested it out.

Sunday Isaiah decided to show up how he can now pull up on anything! He was pulling up on us while we were sitting on the floor but now he uses anything he can find to pull up on. He hasn't, as of yet, tried to pull up in the crib but I know it's coming soon. We got ready and headed out to church. We were even ready early. When we got there we realized that no one else seemed to be in the parking lot. We unloaded, got inside, still empty. I finally asked one of the greaters and she told me that they decided, last week, to move the service to 10:30! We missed last week so we didn't know. Well we had an hour to kill and we decided to head home. Isaiah ended up falling asleep so we missed church again. I headed back out to Lowes to look for a couple of pots and to get two more flower boxes for the back deck. We got the rest of the flowers planted and Cesar sowed some seed and then watered it, with the help of his youngest. It was then time for Zachary's first baseball practice. We decided to have him play in Shelbyville since the whole family is there and it would be easier for him to have a cheering section. It was a lot of fun. Zachary really loves baseball. His daddy is so good at helping out and he loves to help coach Z's teams!

This morning, Monday, while we were getting ready for school, Isaiah decided to show us one more new trick. He can now climb stairs!! What am I going to do?! Oh well, it's off to Wal-Mart for a few more gates to keep "Mr. Destructo" confined!

I hope everyones weekend was as great as ours! Enjoy the pictures of my family!

Update on Z and a Baby Shower!

I really appreciate those who have been lifting Zachary up in prayer. He seemed to get along with the therapist really well yesterday and is looking forward to going back to see her again. They drew some pictures and she even had a sand table that he is looking forward to playing with next time. We saw on her website where she has a therapy dog and so he is, of course, going to ask her about it. He will be going every other week for a little while. Cesar and I were able to meet with her first and express our fears and worries about Zachary. She said that she would discuss with us what she felt we needed to know but she would always let Zachary know that first. I really liked her and felt at ease with leaving my child with her. She also helped me not to feel so much like it was my fault, that has been a problem for me lately.

On Saturday I forgot to mention that I went to my cousin's baby shower. It was held at my MeaMaw's house and it was a great time. There were a lot of people there celebrating this new life. Her in-laws even traveled down from Michigan to attend with two of her nieces. She is going to have a little boy at the end of May.
Funny story about her and how she met her husband. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and her husband was one of Cesar's good friends who also served with him in Iraq. At first I had actually tried to hook her up with another soldier, sorry Clint! After the wedding a bunch of people headed down to 4th street to continue with the party. They ended up meeting there and talked all night. That was in October, they got engaged in December and married in June! Her dad likes to blame me for this! Her husband redeployed to Iraq in September of 07 and she found out she was pregnant in October. She is due with Michael Eric Douglas in May and we are crossing our fingers that his daddy makes it home for his mid-tour leave in time. He will have to return to Iraq after 18 days at home with his new family and then will return for good in December of this year. Michael Eric is named for a 101st soldier who lost his life defending our country the day before they were to return, August 31st 2006, the 3rd Brigade's only loss. SSG Michael "Renegade Stalker" Deason, you will never be forgotten!
